Your favorite hardware-based sequencer
Midibox Seq V4, extremely flexible, but still intuitive with no excessive menu diving. Some key features for my purposes, e.g. MIDI Re-Sync while running (think MungoSync). Oh, and it’s DIY :-)

Vocoders
I like vocoders :-) In Hardware, I got the Micro Modular and the K-Station, but recently I grew very fond of the Vocoder in Ableton Live. Also, a vocoder can be very musical if you try to let go that robot voice idea and try something different, …

Cant reproduce here. Successful writing on both patch and combo mode. n8bit: do you set the brackets around the ok (e.g. “[OK]”) and hit the encoder ?

Main Encoder Defective?
Yeah, the YME encoder feels smooth at first, but can be a bit fiddly to set careful +/- 1 changes. Does it have more clicks per rotation ?

got my parcel yesterday, just finished the filter board, a joy ! Two small comments about the LP2 building instructions: - “The 3x 100uF and 2x 220uF capacitors are polarized.” -> shouldn’t this be “5x 100uF” ? - there’s no mention of “now…

Help? Note stuck on with some patches
By default, i.e. init patch, mod matrix slot #9 is routing Env2 to the VCA, i.e. taming it down until you trigger it. If you change/remove that routing, you get a constantly open VCA, some people call that a “drone patch” ;-) /lol: Olivier was 1…

Dumb Question: what about the “128 presets” ? would it be legit for him to sell “his” instrument with the presets that ppl have contributed here and that made their way into the firmware ?

set tempo to external - how do you handle this?
:D pleasure ! I agree with Olivier that getting the toolchain running is the most tricky part for unexperienced users (include myself here !), especially on Win. A few tips for doing a firmware build on a win machine can be found here: http://…

On another note: For my personal firmware mod, I’ve also changed the Sequencer mode to “SEQUENCER_MODE_RPS”, it starts up ready for sequence fun. My Shruthi-1 is now perfect :-)

Actually, I needed to change it to 35. 39 gives me the “/8” tempo, but I found out anyway (I’m using v0.95 from … last week?) I’ve uploaded the modded firmware to Sendspace, as other might be interested too (and I don’t want to send out dedicate…

Conditioned myself to set it manually whenever I fire up the Shruthi. I was hoping for an option to save this with the global settings, but upon repeated question Olivier stated in the “firmware requests” thread that it would be too complicated: …

How do I configure to boot into preset mode?
It simply starts on the preset browse page (S6) after powering on, “normal mode” means it start on the filter page (S2). On current v0.95, once you powered on with pressed encoder, it will always start with preset browse. To revert, power on with …

Ok, understood. Just one other thingy: When the sequencer is running synched to an external MIDI clock, it doesn’t do anything when receiving another MIDI Start signal (well, ok, it keeps running). Most device would re-start at the beginning of …
