it’s 2 sequencers, from the same guy. these are just the pcbs with the core and controls. there are some support pcb stripes that help connecting leds and banana jacks ;) they aren’t the most popular seqs (in terms of availability) but have some c…

Please help to clarify, is this Shruthi not working as it should? Bought from a trusted builder.

i had exactly the same noise with the first one, Shruti-1 when resting on a running casio VZ-1 that i used as midi kbd, in unshielded (cardbox) case

short on 4pole mission
are the sounds always the same pitch? it can happen that you hear a short beep when the power caps charge first from your beeper. if you have real shorts there must be a steady beep at the same pitch as if you hold the 2 probes together. if your v…

have you tried measuring resistances between the rails instead of just continuity?

A Question to the ShruthiVersums Drum Machine Pros
if you can do it in gate mode that would make it even more useful, but hey i think that’s asking quite a lot. what i meant was a gate to trigger converter to the input so you can feed in a signal as long as you want and it always only produces a 1…

once it’s finished, yes. but i guess my hexinverter 908 will be finished earlier. but i find it useful for all the other midi stuff. it’s good to have the syncing / control in both directions, not only midi-cv or clock. that way i can easily fire o…

Ambika Smr4 - one voicecard quieter than the other five. (SOLVED - Faulty TL072)
usually i don’t socket so it’s even more important with ics. first i put in all ics, then flip around and do one corner pin on each chip. then pressing them against the board while reheating, then all opposite corners. checking again if they’re goo…

well i’m quite sure the incoming trigger won’t vary very much so what’s the point of making it velocity sensitive anyway? to allow triggering by microphone?

what are you converting to velocity? - a V divider pot that generates a cv that you can fiddle while playing? - a cv input (from a sequencer so you don’t have to fiddle as much)? - both (pot as attenuator of the cv, on switching jack)?

Filling in etched plexiglass panels.
i know. i was nagging you about that in the past :) but the clean then dry method works really good for me. better results than those that i had from stuff still covered with nylon.

i fill them with a big blob of enamel paint. then immediately wipe with a dry cloth. after a few minutes i carefully wipe around the fillings with alcohol. if i remove too much color accidentally i add again and repeat if necessary. after drying if…

Before I start my Shruthi, best temperature for soldering iron?
lead free is actually best used in gear that is intended to be thrown away after a few years, like computers, because of the tin whiskering. i wouldn’t use that stuff in diy, personally.

Adding a 49 keyboards directly to the Shruthi (no midi) by chaining 74LS165 ?
but with a merger inside, can’t you just assign 2 input channels and simply route them both to the same output channel?

ic socket backwards
the best thing to do would be to cut out the part that connects the two rows of the socket. that way only the pcb print is visible (to avoid confusion in the future)

rectangular or round doesn’t depend on the case which can be cut either way. you can use the round caps if the lcd can be put behind the pcb. if it sits on top they’re probably not tall enough. at least the ones i know of.
