Bought!
ordered a kit :)
if only every day was friday 13th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucky Guys…. believe me this is a beast! Kind of Swiss Army Knife of Filters . . . . .
Snagged it! Bring us moar toys please! Wish every month had something new in store :p
Very X-panderesque! Yarr!
I had forgotten all about Olivier mentioning a new filter board in the works some time ago! So this was an unexpected surprise.
I really don’t need 5 Shruthi’s.. So of course I ordered one anyway :)
So how does all this fancy filter shenanigans get configured in the GUI? I’ve not seen anything sneaked into .96 aimed at this..
And.. Is this a limited kit, like the Polivoks kit was?
Finally!
I have one already though… :)
Good thing I got the white OLED at Reichelt in case I need to go beyond the LCD and make a deluxe version :)
Here kitty kitty…
is that reichelt list right ?
there is a SMD led in it (LED 0603-360 RT) which is not mentioned in the BOM
also 3x 1N 4148 (BOM says 2x)
edit:
ok i see, the smd led if for the eye.
and the 1N 4148 is listed twice in the bom one time 1x and one time 2x
no mistakes after all.
Yups, SMT is right, its placed in the Eye of that beast on the Filter Board….
Must….. resist…...
....
Thank you Your order was placed successfully.
Damn how did that happen? :))
As far as i can see comes the Kit with a white LCD. White OLED should be this (without waranty!!!)
shameless self-promo:

UI-wise, you select a new entry, 4pm in the filter board selector and get a new menu. This new menu entry is disabled in all the builds I have distributed so far, but is enabled in the most recent build of the v0.96 on the site. The kits are obviously flashed with the right version, pre-configured for 4pm.
OLED Mouser part # is: 790-EAW162-X3LW
On order 10 weeks :-\ $43.58 USD
My procrastinator hurts.
ProWHAT? Is this something filthy?
It feels filthy…
oooooooh! surprise surprise :D
damn too broke right now though…
is there really just the complete kit, or are pcbs already out of stock?
already, hehe, more than an hour after release.
Please tell me this isn’t going to be a limited run and that I can pick one up when my gear-funding reservoir fills back up again?
I still have a dual-SVF on the bench… :-\
@ellu
If you plan to do more than one Shruhti (ok, you will get addicted anyway) id recommend some not so cheap tools as this billigschrott™ can ruin your hole project and the day with it…. So this soldering station would be a pretty good start if you plan to buy from Reichelt.
While you are at it get this solder – it has integrated Flux, so no need for anything else.
A Pair of small Pliers for cutting and fixin is also recommended.
For the Multimeter anything in the 10€ will to for Shruthi Purposes, as you are measre +-9-12 V DC + Resistance only, so this one will do fine. Next usefull step would be a Scope…
I use this Wallwart.
Oh, small Tip if you never soldered anything before: get a Perfboard PCB and some Sockets/cheap parts like Resistors and just try soldering some 100 pads before you need to reorder a mutable Instruments PCB – especially a limited run type.
Argh, I’m out of work now! Is this limited edition or do I need to sell one of the kids right away?
Randy
Lol. My thoughts precisely.
@fcd72 I love that digital soldering station…
@ellu
If you will be doing more DIY I would recommend getting a multimeter that can measure capacitance, and also has a transistor test socket. Those are handy functions to have! Plus maybe a scope when things get serious…
Yups, might be handy – or do it the fcd72 way: just get a new cap/transistor ;-)
@piscione
130€ for a kid? Is it out of this Diaper Thingie Phase? ,-)
I don’t plan to do another run… Maybe sell some pair of boards like for the Polivoks.
One important thing: the number of cases I have in stock is 75% of the total number of kits I have prepared. This means that when those 75% are sold, the kit will be listed out of stock until the new cases are delivered. If all goes well, this will be out of stock in 1 week ; and then the remaining 25% will be sold when fcd72 has received some more white plexi!
mine is purchased …. :)))
Oh god. And it’s white too. Like a TI Polar. All white and shiny and has eyes that blink.
Anyone want to buy an assembled one? I don’t need five. I’m not looking to make money either, just some money towards the shruthi-ti-polar.
Maybe for two. The girl might be worth it, almost 18, cute… I better cut this off before my wife finds out.
Randy
you can use this with the regular control board… but of course the one that comes with the filter is white and looks totally awesome :)
Its a totaly normal digital Board ready fory any Shruthi-1 compatible Filter Board if thats what yopu wanted to know…
Bah, temptation was too great so I’ve bought one. Feeling bad at not being able to resist. But it will at least let me put off writing anything for another week or two :)
My RGB backlight LCD arrived today too, might go well with this. Adjustable backlight colour :)
6581, I’ve seen those RGB displays on Adafruit, amongst 1 or 2 other places.. I was thinking that you could probably do something cunning with that backlight, via the aux CV outputs. Rather like some of us did with the UFO illuminations thing a while back.
I have a spare blue OLED display that I might put into this. I already tested it briefly a while back, and it’s quite a bright, but pale blue. Perhaps more white than blue. It could look pretty good in the white case :)
Indeed, could change colour on the beat or have the display colour defined within the patch. But of course these would need additional hardware and software changes. A bit of a gimmick I guess :)
I’ve got to build up a little circuit for the display with three small trimmers to vary the brightness of the red, green and blue LEDs. At least with a semi-opaque case this little extra board won’t be so easily seen.
Should have done a “Store is down…etc” Apple style :)
And yet another one and beautiful sounding! That is a sick game, please stop.. :)
@Oliver
Will the filter board be available alone in the long-term? I simply have too many pcb’s waiting to be soldered to justify another one to my wife right now :(
Looks and sounds amazing.
Edit: stay on topic.
