anyone else have a glitch where if you loop a segment of midi, usually just a measure, that the first note won’t trigger, or if it is, it’s not sustaining at all?

if i move the midi note just a teeny tiny bit (like 1/64th) then it will work no problem, so it hasn’t been too much of an issue…but if there’s a fix you guys know of then i’d love to know it

i’m using reaper…tested with software synths and other hardware synths and none of them are doing it, this is related to the shruthi

I have my Shruthi MIDI-in connected to the OT MIDI-out. Everything seems to work pretty fine at the first glance. I´m able to trigger the Shruthi and the OT parameter locks work just fine, after assigning some CC Values the OT knobs according to the paramter/cc number sheet in the shruthi manual. Doing so, i do have assigned CC32 to a knob but it has no effect on the programm change.
What am i missing here?
Actually hoping to manage it via try-and-error i assigned all 127 CC values one after another to the OT knobs, but non seem to change to programm.

I had a chance yesterday to sequence my Shruthi with a friends Machindrum. I workek like a charm. Even the programm change was p-lockable for each step. That was awesome!

___

When I use MidiOx to send a small .syx file (i.e. a few hundred bytes, e.g. a Shruthi-1 single patch or a Roland JX-8P single patch) to a synth wich is connected to the MIDI OUT of my V-synth XT everything works fine.

But with the same configuration, when I send a larger .syx file (e.g. a Shruthi-1 firmware update or a JX-8P whole bank of patches) the V-synth XT does not send it out correctly.

Are there V-Synth XT users here ?
Is this a known bug? Is there a solution?
Or should I definitely buy a dedicated USB 2 MIDI interface?

There is one feature of the xpander (probably my favorite overall non-modular synth) but very few other synths, but one that I really appreciate. This is the ability to simply to turn up the vca and let the sound drone – and then slowly modujlating other parameters over time. Forgive me if I’ve missed this in the manual thus far, but I’m curious as to whether others find this a desirable feature, whether it’s possible to add this in the future, etc. Of course this also pertains to the ambika, but I don’t quite have that yet….

Hi,

I worked on a Shruthi-1 editor (one more) as my first Max project, I believe it now supports all the synth parameters as NRPN, including the various filter boards settings in firmware 0.97.
I have tested it with my own filters, 4PM, SSM and SVF and so far it seems to be working well.

Thanks to dnigrin’s paper I made it a standalone macosx app, you can download the .app from this link:

https://github.com/downloads/smugrik/Shruthi-1-Editor/Shruthi-1%20Editor.app.zip
Just unzip and drop on the applications folder.

And the Max 6 project is open source and available on my GitHub:

https://github.com/smugrik/Shruthi-1-Editor

I hope to make it a standalone for Windows too if I manage to get another power supply for my laptop…

In the future I might add more parameters for the arp section, and support SYSEX for patch transfer…

Your feedback is welcome, hope you enjoy it :-)

sigh somehow my svf ain’t the same anymore and it used to work fine after tuning the machine … one of them doesn’t respond, neither cut nor res, env.
what I did today was sending some of the official patches, one by one via sysex to try them out.
this brings up another question: are those compliant with the svf board?
I tried syx firmware rewrite with no improvement to the issue.
